System Machine is a dark electronic and industrial metal band based in Belfast, Northern Ireland. Formed in 2016 by musician Robert Brian Meharg (also known as Rab Meharg). System Machine is more than a musical outlet—it is a sonic vehicle for social and political commentary. Blending heavy, mechanical textures with precise electronic production, the project explores the friction between human experience and the rigid systems of modern society.
At the core of the System Machine identity is a commitment to the circular economy and sustainable activism. This “no-waste” philosophy translates into the music through a focus on intentionality and the repurposing of sound to challenge the status quo.
